How to Serve and Store Freeze-Dried Raw Food

A comfortable feeding routine should be easy to understand and repeat. Start with the directions for your exact recipe, measure its daily amount, then choose the serving style that fits your pet.

Three ways to serve PARTNER raw meals

1. Serve as is

Open the package and serve the freeze-dried food directly. Use the recipe’s daily feeding amount as your starting point and keep fresh drinking water available.

2. Rehydrate

Mix freeze-dried food with room-temperature water at a 1:1 ratio of food to water. Wait 3–5 minutes, then serve. Follow the product’s directions for measuring; if the measuring basis is unclear, ask our team. Adding water changes the serving texture, not the calories in the food portion.

3. Mix it in

PARTNER’s serving method also allows mixing freeze-dried food with PARTNER kibble or oven-baked dry food at a 1:10 ratio of freeze-dried food to dry food. Count both foods toward the day’s intake. A mixing ratio is not a daily calorie allowance, and simply adding food on top of a full existing portion can increase total intake.

Keep treats in their own role

These raw-meal preparation directions are separate from our Treat Time snacks. Treats add variety and shared moments; they are not a replacement for a complete diet. AAHA recommends keeping treats and other extras to no more than 10% of daily calories for healthy pets, with at least 90% from a complete and balanced diet. Handle every serving with care

Raw pet food can contain harmful bacteria, and freeze-drying does not make it sterile. Rehydrating with room-temperature water is a serving method, not a pathogen-killing step. Keep the bag, close it well

Keep dry food in its original packaging so the lot number and best-by information stay with it. Store it sealed in a cool, dry place, following the product label.
